Specialised Secure
Desktop Computers
Transparent Cases
Any electronic equipment within prison facilities must be thoroughly checked for contraband on a regular basis, which commonly takes a number of hours on a standard computer. The optional Cybersource PrisonPC purpose-designed and hardened transparent desktops enable custodial staff to quickly identify any foreign objects in only a few seconds.
Environmental Impact
The desktops are far more energy efficient than standard computers, using 80% less power and producing 40% less heat. And the lack of a hard drive reduces landfill.
Central Management
The majority of computers in use within prisons include a local hard drive housing a complete operating system, application-set and all of the users' documents and data. Regular audits of these desktops are necessary, however they are laborious and time-consuming, and often they don't identify security violations until long after they have occurred. Cybersource PrisonPC leverages the power provided by the local desktop computer hardware to run applications while not allowing the end-users to access the underlying operating system or modify application software. The absence of local storage entirely removes the burden of desktop administration, including application installation.
