Core functionality implemented in the desktop containers includes:
Secure Data Storage
All prisoners have their own personal file storage directory on the server, which can be accessed only by that prisoner and authorised custodial staff members.
Prisoner Intranet Portal
Custodial staff can publish policy and process information securely and conveniently, via the Prisoner Intranet Portal. Such information would include general routine instructions, canteen timetables, church service information, library catalogue, visiting times and protocol, and medical services.
Educational Applications and Training Courses
Educational software and online university or distance training courses can help prisoners prepare for reintegration into society and reduce recidivism.
